Chalet Saskia in Vaujany has an atmosphere of laid-back luxury. All ten bedrooms have balconies with inspiring views and en-suite facilities. There is a sun terrace and two spacious comfortable lounges with log fires to enjoy plus a TV and games room with table tennis, bar football and DVD player.

Saskia can be booked as one whole chalet or split into two five bedroomed halves and also, of course, room by room for smaller parties. The chalet can be booked on a self catering basis in the quiet out-of-season months but is mainly available on a catered basis. A substantial breakfast sets you up for the day ahead, afternoon tea greets you on your return and on six nights a week, an unhurried gourmet dinner with wine makes for some wonderful evenings.

This sumptuous award winning chalet is the perfect place to be pampered. Your chalet hosts, Marcus and Rosa have built up a loyal following amongst Ski Peak regulars over the years for their impeccable service, knowledge of the area and above all, for Marcus's superlative cuisine. Fresh local produce is combined with global ingredients, ideas and inspiration that he has gleaned on his travels to far flung destinations to create some meals that are out of this world. Well-chosen french AOC wines provide the perfect compliment and complete an ideal evening in beautiful surroundings.

On the weekly staff rest night you can choose one of the local restaurants.

La Remise Pizzeria - a friendly welcome with authentic wood-fired pizzas.
Le Mas des Neiges - serving traditional montagnarde dishes.
La Table de La Fare - Handy to the main lift station for an apre-ski refreshment.

"This charming stand alone chalet in an ancient farming village is divided into two halves, mirror images of each other. The sitting and dining rooms are large and comfortable with polished wood floors. The central hub is a glass fronted kitchen, where you can watch chef Marcus Cull at work; he is the real reason to choose chalet Saskia - his herb crusted lamb with parmesan polenta and roast vegetable salad is to die for. Finish with a bowl of poppy-seed ice-cream with orange, cardamom, apple, date and fig salad and you'll be in foodie heaven.

Where Vaujany is linked by one of the largest cable-cars in the world to the 143 miles of piste and 86 lifts of Alpe d'Huez. the village is like Bembridge or rock-on-snow, in that the same families come back year after year - and everyone knows everyone else.
