Located
in one of the most extensive skiing areas in Europe with a
network of runs to suit all abilities, a world class lift
system and 770 snow cannons. The combination of rural village,
with its traditional way of life, and well-equipped ski resort,
including an indoor sports complex, adequate range of shops,
outdoor ice rink and ample choice of authentic Alpine restaurants
and bars, creates the ideal balance for an enjoyable winter
holiday. |

Instant access
Vaujany is linked to the world class skiing around Alpe d’Huez
(1,100m – 3,330m) via an impressive 160-person cable car –
one of the biggest in the world – with minimal queues (New
Year and half-term are unavoidable exceptions). Alternatively, take
the gondola up to Vaujany’s own appealing ski area at Montfrais.

Activities
The local fauna museum is very interesting and the tourism office
often has various displays about traditional life in the little
alpine village.
A new escalator links two sets of shops both within easy walking
distance of our Vaujany accommodation.
Sports centre & swimming pool: An impressive, modern complex
houses a 25m heated indoor pool and multi-gym, as well as a
sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. |
Vaujany is perched up in the Dauphiné Alps and is
surrounded by stunning high mountain scenery, it has been
home to farming families for generations and still retains
its rural atmosphere. Vaujany nestles on the south-facing
side of the valley and is dwarfed by the Massif des Grandes
Rousses, which takes it’s name from the spectacular
show of colour projected by the setting sun on the high
ridges. With the accompanying springtime sound of ‘Cascade
de la Fare’, the location provides the perfect tonic
for relaxation. Whether you are a retired skier or looking
for a break from daily routine our holidays will give you
the perfect serene getaway.
