Lift Passes 2010/11

Order and pay for your Vaujany and Alpe d’Huez lift pass before departure from the UK and we will have it ready for you so not one minute of skiing is lost. This means:

  • No standing in lines.
  • You benefit from our DISCOUNTED rates (on full area passes).
  • Pre-paid in the UK means no worries over exchange rates once in Vaujany.
  • Our third season of hands-free passes – shorter queues, warmer hands.

If you have not ordered or pre-paid in the UK you can determine your Vaujany/Oz/Alpe d’Huez liftpass requirements with your Ski Peak Rep on the transfer to resort. In this case payment should be in euro cash. You will then receive your ordered lift passes the following day at breakfast.

Local Area vs Full Area Passes (Vaujany lift pass vs Grandes Rousses lift pass)

Our ski area – Grande Rousses Mountain Resort (Alpe d‘Huez) – is a vast area of fabulous both on and off-piste skiing. We thoroughly recommend to anyone but complete beginners to purchase a Full Area Pass and make the most of the more than 250kms of pistes by starting exploring from day one.

However, Vaujany Station also offers the option of a Local Area Pass. For children up to (and including) 3 star and adults up to (and including) class 2 this pass suffices for their ESF needs. This pass gives full access to Montfrais, Alpette and Oz but has limited Alpe d’Huez access (though you can still ski down into Alpe d’Huez). Therefore if you think you’ll wish to ski beyond these limits after your lessons on some of the other great blue and red pistes in resort you might prefer a Full Area Pass from day one. Note: up-grades are available in Vaujany resort, your instructor will let you know if you need one.
If you require more details about the two types of pass, please call us and we’ll be happy to talk you through your options.

New!!

Ours is a constantly evolving resort where not a season goes past without some sort of improvement. Three we particularly like new for this season are:

1. Montfrais – La Fare link.
This was not cheap to make apparently, but the 200m extended piste from the top of the Montfrais Chair across the Chalet piste and onto La fare is well worth it! It is great to be able to whizz down from the top of Montfrais to Enversin below Vaujany and has given the experienced skier a great new option locally.

2. The new modernised first section of the Marmotte chair.
Wow, what a difference! You now shoot back up out of Alpe d’Huez on a fast, 6 seater Poma chair lift with weather protective shields - luxury!

Resort Map

3. The new Les Ancolies blue 1,8km piste.
The new Les Ancolies blue 1,8km piste linking the arrival of the Marmotte lift at 2300m to the arrival of the first stage of the DMC 2100m.
There is always something going on up there above us - so for 2011, watch this space!
